While the presidential election took place more than a month ago, Monday marked the official executive win for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris following the electoral college recasting ballots to legally seal their victories. Joe Biden received 306 electoral votes to Trumps 232 and expressed his desire to move past the election disputes and focus on rectifying the pandemic via speech excerpts that were released by his transitional team. The President elect stated “In this battle for the soul of America, democracy prevailed. We the People voted. Faith in our institutions held. The integrity of our elections remains intact. And so, now it is the time to turn the page. To unite. To heal.” His speech is set to affirm his “commitment” to be a “president for all Americans” according to the AP.
