Covid-19 Vaccine Clinical Trials Starting In Children

Frontline workers began receiving the Pfizer covid-19 vaccine last week now clinical studies have began regarding it’s safety for children. Moderna announced that adolescent participants were administered initial doses earlier this month. In a study that includes kids from ages 12 to 17. Moderna’s CEO, Stephane Bancel stated ” We are pleased to begin this Phase 2/3 study of mRNA-1273 in healthy adolescents in the U.S.. Our goal is to generate data in the spring of 2021 that will support the use of mRNA-1273 in adolescents in advance of the 2021 school year. The pharmaceutical company plans to enroll 3000 children for analysis. The vaccines are being tested in children as two doses with the second being treated as a booster shot.
