President-elect Joe Biden took the mic denouncing the actions of alleged Trump supporters who trespassed on the U.S. Capitol on Wednesday afternoon demanding the election be altered. In a recorded message Donald Trump reiterated his notion that the election was “stolen” while saying “go home we love you, you’re very special you’ve seen how people were treated.” He also said “go home in peace.” Vice President Mike Pence demanded for the protestors to “leave the building” saying “The violence and destruction taking place at the US Capitol Must Stop and it Must Stop Now.”

Democrats began to plead with the President to unapologetically deescalate his base.

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi released a statement that read “We are calling on President Trump to demand that all protestors leave the U.S. Capitol and Capitol Grounds immediately. Biden called the crowds actions an “insurrection” that was “threatening the safety of duely elected officials.” It has been reported that someone was shot in the midst of the armed standoff.
