Patti LaBelle’s “Thanksgiving” was a little bit sweeter this year as Walmart reported that the singers sweet potato pies sold like hot cakes once again.
A representative for Walmart told Fox Business that ahead of the holiday the retail giant sold approximately 36,000 pies everyday which amounts to more than 1,500 pies per hour and one of the treats every two seconds. The pastry has been a must have for many since a fan of LaBelle’s namely “James Wright” tested the pie on YouTube ultimately going viral due to his hilarious endorsement. Wright’s YouTube video presently has over 6 million views. Is it safe to add world renowned chef to the “Godmother Of Soul’s” resume?
